Art Nouveau Silver, Green Glass Smelling Salts Bottle.
Small beautiful salts bottle, made in green glass with overlay of sterling silver, and with grass and silver-mounted cap. British hallmarks for Birmingham 1901. Maker’s mark is rubbed, but starts “L.” It also has a registration mark stamped, which dates it between January 1900 to January 1909, which fits in with the hallmark date. Item measures 5.8 cm high and 2.9 cm diameter at its widest. Condition: one shallow indentation on the silver mount to the bottle, and some little tiny frits underneath the base of the bottle. Overall, very good condition, and a unusual, very quaint item.
