Black glass bead hat pin, Victorian or Edwardian period (late 19th to early 20th century). Bead measures just under 1 cm diameter. Total length of hatpin is 25.5 cm (10 inches). Steel pin has usual dark areas to steel, very good condition.  Long pins were used to penetrate the large hats and high-piled hair that was the fashion of the period.
