This detailed netsuke depicts a dragon riding on the back of a tortoise -the dragon has his tail wrapped around him to fit on the tortoise’s back. The tortoise has his neck craned round to look at the dragon. The eyes of tortoise and dragon are tiny black beads. There is a signature underneath
(see image). Beautifully detailed work, with scales and the open mouth of the dragon. Item measures 4.25 cm high, by 4.2 cm long and 2.65 cm wide. Excellent condition.
