Sterling Silver Vesta Case, 1906.

  • NZ$3600

Edwardian vesta or match-safe. Made to hang on a gentleman’s watch chain. Engraved with a leaf pattern.
Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1906. Maker is Charles Lyster & Son. The case has a sprung lid with push-button.  The striker for the Swan Vesta match is underneath. The case has some depressions on the sides, and denting to the top. The sides are made by thumb and forefinger depressing the case when opening it. These are quite easy to push out. The top is not an easy fix, though. Price reflects this.  TSW: 14.4g.
