Victorian Silverplate Condiment Stand and Bottles

  • NZ$16500

Oval EPNS table set of four condiment bottles on stand. The stand has rope-twist and beaded edges, with little shell feet and a handle with a heart scroll and finial. The bottles have silver plate caps, and two are used for pepper and mustard, with the other two having stoppers - presumably for vinegar and oil - or maybe some sort of sauce. All bottles are matching. The stand is in very good condition.  The mustard spoon is a ring-in, but it works. One glass stopper is non-matching, not original and has a chip to the bottom of the plug end. All the bottle bases are in excellent condition. Item is approx. 24 cm high, 16.5 cm wide and 14 cm deep.  This lovely set would date from mid to late 1800s. The silversmith's mark is for Atkin Brothers, Sheffield (England).
