By Carol Owens, a well known sculptor of mainly cattle and cowboy bronze figurines, this study of a Border Collie working dog shows the dog in the herding stance, crouching, staring down the sheep or cattle so they move in the direction required. Pre-owned figurine is mounted onto a natural country wooden base, with splits and all. Brass plaque reads “Border Collie. Carol Owens”. It is signed in the cast of the bronze, “© 9/50 C. Owens”. Probably made as a paperweight, very heavy. Very good condition. Wooden base measures 15.5 cm long by 10 cm wide and 3 cm high. The bronze is 13 cm long, 7.25 cm wide and about 7 cm high.
