Edwardian period, early 1900s. Beautiful rim decoration of swags and roundels, and gadrooning band to the stem and foot rim. Removable blue glass liner, and decorated hinged handle. Maker’s marks are on the side of the foot rim - marked EP, and “K” - the K stands for Kupfer, which is German for copper. This is the same process used in Sheffield plate. The glass liner is in very good condition, and overall, the basket is in excellent condition. Item measures approx. 21 cm high with the handle raised, and 11cm diameter at the rim. Although this item was originally for lump sugar, it could easily be used for whipped cream, or for sweets and bon-bons.
