Made in slats of possibly plastic, but to look as simulated tortoiseshell. It has a snake chain shoulder strap (removable)  and an internal pocket. Without the shoulder chain, it becomes a clutch purse. Fold-out interior. Measures 12.5 cm high by 20 cm wide. Chain is gold plated, with some of the base silver or chrome showing through.  Attractive 1950s to 1960s item.
