Kauri gum is the fossilised resin of ancient New Zealand kauri trees. Ancient, but not as old as European amber. The larger lump is a very good brown colour, clear, with some tiny bubbles. It measures 4.8 cm wide by 3.9 cm deep and 4.2 cm high. Weight 21.7g. The other little nugget is a honey colour, also clear, but with a fracture line (has possibly been joined).. Measures 2.3 cm wide by 2.5 cm deep and 1.3 cm high. Weight: 5 g. Both would melt well for jewellery or similar, or just as additions to a collection.
