sterling-silver-sovereign-coin-case-1906
Sterling Silver Sovereign Coin Case, 1906.

Antique coin case, would have hung from a gentleman’s fob chain. Engraved acanthus scrolls to the outer case with a blank panel for initials to the front. Inside, the case is sprung loaded - you place the coins on top of the machine engraved disc, and press them down against the spring. Hallmarks are for Birmingham, England, dated 1906. The maker is A .L. Dennison. Case measures 3.05 cm diameter and 1.5 cm thick. You open it by pressing down on the top of the knob in the bow - much like a fob watch - in fact Dennisons manufactured watch cases. Condition is very good - just a very shallow indentation on the front, which could be pressed out. This pretty item could be worn as a locket or pendant. TW: 19.3g.

ITEM REF.
