Sterling Silver Antique Inkwell, 1909.
Edwardian period inkwell, hallmarked for Birmingham 1909. Maker's mark is S.M.L probably for Samuel M Levi. Very nice quality with beaded lower edge, and gilded inside to the lid. Felt under base. Wide base for stability and domed lid. The actual inkwell comes with a clear acrylic removable insert, which has been added to the item recently, probably to make it easier when cleaning up ink. Item measures 8 cm diameter and 4.4 cm high. There are initials engraved on the lid in flowing script (I always find these hard to decipher) - I think they read D L N but could be very wrong. See the image. Beautiful condition.
