Antique folding fruit knife with sterling silver blade and mother of pearl handle. Silver has English hallmarks for Sheffield, 1920. Maker's mark is J.Y.C. for John Yeomans Cowlishaw, Sheffield. Decorative engravings to the pearl. When open the knife measures 9.3 cm long; when closed it it 5.7 cm long. It has one crease in the silver blade, otherwise, very good condition all round. These little folding knives were used for cutting up soft fruit when out and about, or picnicking. The blade is too fine for cutting up solid items.
