Late 1800s Engraving of Dogs by Frank Palou.
Frank Palou, 19th century French artist, who specialised in Hunting and country life scenes. This is an engraving of three terriers staring down a badger hole, and entitled "Not at Home". The badger in fact in in the burrow entrance. The central engraving is surrounded by little sketches showing a theme of Not at Home. The work is pencil-signed by the artist. Condition: there are some spots on the paper, and the mount needs replacing. Frame is reeded timber (possibly oak) with a slim gold inner.
