Hinemoa House, Helensville Souvenir Lidded Pot.
Vintage lidded porcelain pot, a souvenir of Helensville, New Zealand. It shows Hinemoa House on the front. Gilded edges. There is a spoon slot in the lid, so presumably this was either a jam or honey pot, or a small sugar pot. Measures 9 cm high and 7.6 cm wide by 6.8 cm deep. Excellent condition. Maker is IBC Royal Scenic China, Made in Czechoslovakia. This company made many of New Zealand's early souvenir items. Hinemoa House opened circa 1915 as a luxury 36 room guest house at the gateway to the hot springs in Helensville. It was burnt down in 1977. This pot would date from 1915 to 1920s. Art Deco finial to lid.
