12ct yellow gold ring, with a star ruby as the centre of a cluster. It is surrounded by eight grain-set cabochon sapphires. On the outer rim of the cluster are eight spaced diamonds in square mounts. On each shoulder is a double tulip style design mounted with a further four diamonds each side.
The shank is a tapered ridged band, 2.7 mm to 2.4 mm wide. The face of the ring measures 17 mm by 18 mm.
Finger size is UK/NZ "J"  (USA size 4.3/4) with an internal diameter of 16.6 mm.
This ring has been remodelled from what was possibly an antique necklace piece. The star ruby is approx. 5.6-5.8 mm estimated at 1 carat. Translucent, dark purplish red, moderately included, good colour quality with a fair 6 ray star. The little sapphires are estimated to total 0.80 carats, light medium blue.
The diamonds are grain-set, of old rose cut and senaille cut, estimated to total 0.18 carats.
TW of ring is 7.75g. It is in very good condition.
