Folding Silver Fruit Knife, Victorian.
Antique little fruit knife, in its original box. Pretty engraved pattern to edge of the sterling silver blade. Hallmarks for Sheffield, England, 1836. Maker’s mark is WD. The handle is mother of pearl, with carved pattern to top and bottom. Silver rear edge and bottom of handle. Blank panel for your initials. There is a crack across the handle, otherwise in very good condition, with an excellent blade - as these are so often bent. Price reflects condition. The box is quaint, but has seen better days, being scuffed and open at one end. These little knives were used for cutting up your apple or orange when you strode about the country side on your gentleman’s estate. (Think Mr Darcy).
