Estate Emerald and Diamond Three Stone Ring.
18ct yellow gold and palladium mount, hand made with coronet claw settings. Central emerald of approx. 4.8 x 3.8 x 2.75 mm, estimated at 0.37 carats. The diamonds are estimated to total 0.59 cts. We have a valuation for this ring, and it describes the stones as follows: The emerald is medium-dark green, moderately included with very good colour quality. The diamonds are claw/tab set, old-mine and old octagonal brilliant cut. Their quality is assessed as Good old make, G-I colour, I1 clarity. Extra large culets. The old octagonal has chips around the girdle (not visible to the naked eye). Inside the band of the ring is stamped "PLAT 18ct 117". A note is added that there is some wear to the side of setting - one end point requires soldering, but stones are all secure at present. This is commensurate with age and wear - the damage is usually caused by wearing a ring alongside a wedding band or other rings. This ring would be at least 50 or 60 years old. The finger fitting is UK/NZ size L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm. The valuation gives a second-hand retail market value of NZ$2200.00 and a new comparison value of NZ$5200.00. We can offer it for less than this guide.
