Beautiful vintage belt, made with 15 oval plaques of mother-of-pearl with silver Chinese letters on top. The two ovals for the clasp are larger, being 5.6 cm by 4.2 cm, while the smaller ovals are 4.2 cm by 3.3 cm. It has a Chinese silver mark stamped to the rear of one of the clasp plaques. Total length 66.5 cm. Each panel has a decorated silver frame. Minor faults to two panels (piece of the letter absent) but overall in very good condition and quite stunning. Probably Export Silver, dating early 20th century.
