Pair of Fish Servers, Crested, Silver Plate.

  • NZ$11500

Late 1800s ornate pair of Victorian fish servers - unknown marks around the ferrule including the initials “T.S.”, and a crest impressed into the handle finials with the initials E.D.G. (I think - I find flowing script very hard to decipher). The TS could be Thomas Sansom of Sheffield, from the early Victorian period. There is a sort of double eagle stamp and another possibly Prince of Wales feathers stamp, but nothing easily decipherable. They appear to be of English make and style. Serving knife is 31 cm long, and the fork is 24.5 cm long. Pierced work to both tines and blade with engraved designs of acanthus scrolls. Condition is very good for the age - just minor tiny, tiny pin-head dents to the handles. Lovely and mellow.
