Old Totara Fence Post Bottle.
An old farming fence post from 1910, complete with a bit of barbed wire and old nail holes - made into a bottle.
Turned wood stopper and neck, square weathered sides. Probably turned to this shape in the 1970s. Has the words " New Zealand Totara Fence Post 1910" carved around the top. Measures 27 cm high and about 13 cm square. Bottle interior depth is only 8 cm. Small chip to the neck rim. Unusual old piece of New Zealand history. (For non-New Zealanders, totara is an NZ native wood, and would have been felled and made into fence posts on the farm).
