Gilded Silver Lady's Card Case, 1907.
Sterling silver, gilded, Edwardian calling card case. It has a chain strap and finger ring, so possibly could also have been used as a dance card holder. Purse-shaped, with fold-over lid and unusual embossed crocodile skin effect to the silver. Brushed gilding inside, polished gilding to exterior. Full British hallmarks for Chester, 1907. Maker's mark is C.C. for Colen Hewer Cheshire.
Item measures 4 cm by 10 cm, and 8 mm thick. TW: 78.3g, not including the metal chain. Very good condition - just a little discolouration to the round engraving panel.
