Pipe with natural wood stem horn mouth piece and porcelain bowl. Decorated bowl, man & woman in rural dress. Flip–top filter to bowl. Metal has corroded a little, some green bloom here – would clean up better than photographed. Large item, measures 33cm long (13 inches). Very good condition with some bloom as described, and a split cork (photographed) which could be easily replaced.

Slim Dunhill gas lighter – made in Switzerland. This item is being sold on consignment – I’m told it is silver, but I can’t find any hallmarks or any reference site to verify this. It has a thumb–flick top (with lovely black & silver checkerboard design inside the top). Measures 74 mm high, 20 mm wide and 12 mm deep. Excellent condition with just one small mark on the case, but currently has no flint.

Amber & Gold Cigar Holder in Case

“Gold Mounted, English Made” says the label inside the little Morocco leather case – it houses a red amber cigar holder, mounted in 9ct gold. Maker’s stamp is H.P. & S. (could be Henry Perkins & Sons). Dates from early 20th century. These were used to hold slim cigars, and the internal diameter of the holder opening is approx. 13 mm (1/2 inch). Excellent condition.

Vintage Dupont Flick–top Lighter, Rose Gold Plated

Beautiful vintage cigarette lighter, made by Dupont, France. Rose gold–plated brass, with serial number underneath and, as well as the S T Dupont name, there is a tiny stamped emblem with the name A.Dupont underneath it. It has a wheel which stops the flow of gas – very handy for changing flints etc. There is a little button which will allow the flint carrier to pop up. This is the BS model, introduced in 1959 and produced up until 1973. Discontinued now, but is still repairable if necessary. This one, however, needs no repair. It measures 58 mm high, by 35 mm wide and 14 mm thick. Has been used, but in very good vintage condition.

It has three compartments – a rubber lined section for your tobacco, a soft leather lined section for your pipes, with loops to hold two and plenty of room for extras, and a side compartment containing a tamper tool, with a stem cleaner needle. Pouch measures about 18 cm by 9.5 cm empty. Excellent condition.

Elegant sterling silver lighter – grooved stripe pattern sides, press–down one side of the top to action the lighter. The maker is Consul (German), and has a crown mark underneath, along with 925 on the bottom of the rear surface. Lighter measures 70 mm by 26 mm by 13 mm thick. Very good condition.

Cast iron tobacco cutter — 19th century American, with the figure of a man thumbing his nose and riding on the handle of the cutter. No maker’s name. Measurements: 32 cm by 7.5 cm closed, and 65 cm long when opened. Condition is very good — it has one replacement screw. Quite heavy.

Classic English sterling silver cigarette box — engine turned engraving on lid, with Art Deco style corner detailing. Edge with engraving of scrolls. Front initials: T.G.P. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1936. The inside is wood lined. Maker’s mark: C & G & Co.
Measures 4 cm high, and 16 cm by 11 cm. Very good condition overall, with some minor small dents to the surface.

A briar pipe, with “Wing Commander” stamped on one side of the bowl, and “Made in England” on the other. The stem has “Dr. John” stamped on it, and the sterling silver band is hallmarked for London 1950. Maker’s mark in the silver is “H.P. & S.“ Straight stem. Excellent condition. Has been used. Measures 16 cm long.

Old Clay Pipe Bowl, Shaped as Head

Old pipe bowl, from a clay pipe — it is in the shape of a head, a bearded man, probably a notable figure or politician of the day. Circa 1910. measures about 4 cm high and 3.3 cm deep. These pipes were made to be disposable, but I don’t think this one has been used, although there is a scorch mark on the top and a minor chip at the rear. They were quite crudely made, as it was customary to break your pipe at the end of an evening’s carousing and smoking.
