Old Capstan Navy Cut Tobacco Tin Item number: 9041 Date: early 20th century Price: NZ$16.00 W.D. & H.O. Wills (Bristol & London) old tobacco tin. Medium Capstan Navy Cut. Tin has a slit in the lid and slight lip, presumably for shaking out tobacco onto your cigarette paper. Tin measures 39 mm high and 68 mm diameter. There is wear to the paper, and it has a small slit in the edge of the base. (See photo 5). Otherwise good sound condition. |

Early Cigarette Tin, Ardath Cigarettes Item number: 0943 Date: early 20th century Price: NZ$30.00 Very old cigarette tin, early 20th century. The brand is Ardath, which was founded in 1896 by Sir Albert Levy in Great Britain. The typeface on this tin is pure Art Nouveau. “Splendo Cigarettes, Mild, Natural Oriental Blend.” and “Ardath High Class Cigarettes”. Flip–top tin, measuring 7.5 cm high, 8.5 cm wide and 1.9 cm deep. The paint is showing spotting, and there is some bloom on the tin itself, but is is in better condition than it appears, being very sound with no actual red rust. |
