Lidded German Stein

Large stoneware German stein mug, metal hinged lid. Measures 28 cm high and the base is 10.5 cm diameter. There is some pitting to the metal of the lid. The stoneware is in excellent condition. The top band and the lower band are lustreware glaze, and there is a little minor scuffing to the lower one. Overall, excellent. Very colourful. Underneath stamped “Germany” and ”7„.

Lidded German Stein

Stoneware German stein mug, metal lid. Measures 23 cm high and the base is 9 cm diameter (9 inches by 3.1/2 inches). Metal lid has a piece broken off the thumb piece and there is some pitting to the metal. The stoneware is in excellent condition. The top band and the lower band are lustreware glaze, and there is a little scuffing to the lower one. Overall, very good. Very colourful. Underneath stamped “4” and has the remains of a printed mark.

Unused Pearsons of Chesterfield Casserole Dish with Lid

Brown glazed stoneware oven dish with lid, made by prestigious British firm of Pearsons of Chesterfield. Has never been used. It measures approx. 13.5 cm high and 20 cm wide (5.1/4 inches by 8 inches). It has few marks on it, all made in the manufacture: there is a slim gouge in the clay on the edge of the rim leading to where the lid sits, and five marks around the bottom foot rim, where it has sat in the kiln, and where the glaze dripped down, it has broken away on being uplifted from the kiln. Beautiful item, good substantial weight.

Lovely sponge glaze ceramic large jug, beautiful rich colour – electric kettle for Neeco. Has element inside and bakelite lid. Pottery is probably Temuka. Jug measures about 20 cm high and 23 cm wide handle to spout. Circa late 1940s–early 1950s. Ceramic part of jug is in excellent condition – there is a little nick/loss in the bakelite near the spout. and a split in the bakelite seam down the centre of the lid to this area. A real piece of Kiwiana.
