Small porcelain Royal Bayreuth jug, with scene of horsemen – Arab or Bedouin horsemen in a desert setting with palm tree. The handle of the little jug is a serpent with his mouth open to grasp the rim. His body forms a knot at the handle top, and his tail swishes down into the sand of the desert. Gilded flashes. Jug measures 83.5 mm high and about 75 mm wide handle to spout (3.1/4 inches by 3 inches). Blue mark. Early 20th century. Excellent condition, small wear to gilding.

Stoneware German stein mug, metal lid. Measures 23 cm high and the base is 9 cm diameter (9 inches by 3.1/2 inches). Metal lid has a piece broken off the thumb piece and there is some pitting to the metal. The stoneware is in excellent condition. The top band and the lower band are lustreware glaze, and there is a little scuffing to the lower one. Overall, very good. Very colourful. Underneath stamped “4” and has the remains of a printed mark.

European Porcelain Gilded Floral Basket

Lovely 19th century basket or bucket vase – made in porcelain, it has a very intricate applied string–like surface to the china, which is gilded. On top of this are applied porcelain flowers and hand painted leaves, also very well detailed. The handle is a piece of old gold–coloured curtain cord. Quite stunning over–the–top piece. There are faults, of course, as there always seem to be with such delicate applied decoration. There are little chips to the end of the leaves, and although it is hard to see in amongst such a profusion of detail, there are just a few very tiny faults to the flowers. Vase measures 10.7 cm high and 10.4 cm diameter. No maker’s marks, just a handpainted 66 on the bottom (the painter‚s mark), and an impressed mark of 256.

No chips or cracks, or wear to any other decoration.

Fine porcelain, decorated with gilded ladies and gentlemen in period dress. Each cup has a different design. Gilded handles, plain saucers.
The mark is “Fabrique Royale Limoges”.
Cans each measure 5 cm high and 5 cm diameter. Saucers are 10 cm diameter. Condition: p erfect (except the spare).

Pretty Victorian Kitchen Cruet Set

A lovely porcelain set of a large pepper, a large mustard, and an open salt cellar — all joined as one unit. The pepper and lidded mustard are very large, and lift out of their cup homes for use. There is a handle on the back of the set, and pretty decoration in cobalt blue with gilded pattern around the top edges. The salt has a pattern of pink roses. No maker’s mark, but looks probably Austrian. Would date from late 19th century — late Victorian. Excellent condition, only one small chip underneath lip of the pepper shaker.
Set measures 13.75 cm wide, 12.75 cm deep and 9.5 cm high. A very pretty and unusual item.

Villeroy and Boch Lidded Jasper Ware Pot

An unusual hexagonal lidded pot, ginger jar style — maybe a tea caddy — fashioned in a very Indian pattern with applied scrollwork, and stylised elephant heads around the neck. Made in pale chocolate-coloured jasperware, with applied pattern in a paler shade of coffee. Maker’s mark is for Villeroy & Boch, an impressed mark (much like the mark Wedgwood uses). It has the letter “L” also impressed.
This a very beautiful item, about 18.5 cm high and 10.5 cm wide at its widest point. It has a shallow chip along one corner underneath (since the material is the same colour right through, this doesn’t show). Otherwise excellent condition.

Not old, but very useful and good quality. A brown-glazed cafetierre made in Luxembourg by Villeroy & Boch. It has the number “4” stamped underneath (4 cup?). Underneath is ridged, so presumably can be put on a cooktop. Filter containing ground coffee fits into top portion of the unit, and works as a normal drip-filter coffee system. This unit is removable, and there is a lid for the coffee pot. All together measures 21 cm high. Spout has a very good pouring end on it — whole item is in unused, excellent condition.
