Rare Christopher Dresser Ault Pottery 3 piece Garniture Item number: C12527 Date: turn of 19th and 20th century Price: NZ$1650.00 Arts and Crafts three piece garniture, by Christopher Dresser – Ault Pottery. Two large, tall side vases and a central large squat vase, all hand decorated with stylised acanthus scrolls. Underneath the central vase is the impressed mark with Dresser’s signature and the Ault Pottery mark. Also the letters 146 (I think that’s correct). Rare set - this garniture has been illustrated in books on Dresser. Dates to very early 20th century. Condition: One of the tall vases has a restored neck – this is an old restoration and has discoloured a bit with age. The actual work is excellent, but the colour of the mottled dusky dark mauve/brown shade of the vase has faded to a slightly mustard tinge (see photos). The other vase is excellent and in original condition. The central squat vase is all original also. It has a small shallow surface chip where there is a line at the point where the handles have been attached to the neck of the vase (top – see photo 4). |

Retro Post Modern Seviers Jug, Red Stripes Item number: 9110 Date: mid 20th century Price: NZ$36.00 Full of character, this little jug (oil or vinegar I think) is slip glazed with red and black handpainted stripes. Very 1950s. Very typical of the era. Beautifully shaped. The Seviers mark is handpainted under the base. This was a mark from the Old Hampstead Pottery, which was the partnership of Martha Rickatson and Maria Seviers, which was dissolved in April 1951. Maria Seviers then continued the pottery with a number of other potters as a limited company until November 1966 when it went into receivership. The mark dates the jug from between 1951 and 1966. Jug measures 127 mm high and 80 mm diameter (5 inches by about 3.1/4 inches). There is one small area at the foot where the slip has come off in a shallow surface chip, exposing the cream pottery underneath. Really nice item. |

Edwardian Porcelain Egg Cruet Item number: C8835 Date: circa 1900–1920 Price: NZ$75.00 Pretty lustre ware egg cruet — with two lift-out egg cups and little shell shapes in the cruet to carry your salt and pepper. Red and green wreath decoration to the sides. Probably German-made, circa 1900–1910. Cruet measures 13.5 cm by 9.5 cm and about 9.5 cm high. The egg cups are 5 cm high. Only one fault, a little imperfection on one ring which the cup fits over — it looks like a small chip, but has glaze on it, so is probably a firing fault. Not seen when egg cups are in place. |

1930s Wall Pocket Vase Item number: C9397 Date: 1930s Price: NZ$95.00 Possibly Fielding’s Crown Devon, or Sylvac. It has the typical matt glaze with embossed body design of flowers and leaves. Very 1930s Deco. There is an impressed mark on the rear, but it is so faint, that only the shape of the mark is evident. It appears to be more the shape of Crown Devon than of Sylvac, and there is no mould number. Could also be Crown Lynn?
