Bengall Straight Edge Razor

Item number: 8808
Date: early 20th century
Price: NZ$38.00

Lovely vintage cut throat razor – Bengall brand, by Cadmans of Sheffield, England. Celluloid handle to look as ivory. Basically very good condition – one spot of rust on blade, but this is just through soap being not wiped off sufficiently, and would clean up with stropping, or light wire wool. Very nice razor, good popular brand.

Vintage Rolls Razor in Case

Item number: 7833-6
Date: early to mid 20th century
Price: NZ$30.00

Vintage Rolls Razor in nickel or silver plate over brass case. Case stamped “Rolls Razor, 1927. Made in England”. Built–in strop to lid. This information from Wikipedia: “Rolls Razor open case. The blade handle on the left is attached to the honing mechanism lever via a spring-loaded bearing. The nickel plated blade on the right side is attached to the honing bar that slides on the red leather strop. The grey honing stone is part of the closing lid. The leather strop and the hone lids are not interchangeable as the blade needs to push against the hone but pull against the strop. The blade has a safety guard with pivot action that allows it to vary the shaving angle while providing safe operation. The head of the blade handle locks perpendicular to the blade using a slide type of action with the spring-loaded bearing providing additional stability.”
All appears to be in very good condition, except the plating of the box is worn through to the brass. Quite heavy.
