New Zealand nephrite jade pendant (called greenstone by the maori people of NZ, to whom it is a revered stone) – it is carved in the form of a Maori toki, or adze (axe). It symbolises building life and friendships. The top is bound, and the whole is on a plaited waxed twine cord. We have several of these, and as they are all hand carved, they vary a little in size and colour. The one shown is representative. It measures 4.5 cm by 2.5 cm (just over 1.3/4 inches by 1 inch). The cord is adjustable.

Sino–Tibetan Silver and Cornelian Flint Burner

An unusual belt ornament, Sino–Tibetan in origin. It is made in silver, with a cornelian bead at the lower end. The shape is like a vase, with handles and pierced-work decoration of a bird in foliage on one side, and possibly a rat in a grape vine on the other. Bottom pulls out to reveal a tube with blackened metal wadding or flint in it. Suspended on a chain with a large hook to loop over a belt. Very nice work, with unusual decoration. The urn and ball bead measure 9 cm in length, and the suspension chain is another 11.5 cm including the hook. Excellent condition.

Vintage Masai Beaded Bracelet

This lovely beadwork bracelet is about 40 years old. Made by the Masai tribe of Southern Africa. Tiny glass coloured beads strung on wire with green spacer bars. Little wire loops and hooks as a clasp. Bracelet measures 2.7 cm deep. It has an internal diameter of about 5.8 cm. Excellent original condition.
