Antique arch joint ruler by John Rabone & Son. Imperial measurements (inches). Stamped “Warrant Best Box” (wood). Lovely curly font for the numbers, would date around 1845, as it is stamped John Rabone & Son, not sons, and John Rabone junior joined the company in that year - followed by his brother a few years later, as which time it would have been marked “& Sons”. Unfolded, it is 3 ft long (36 inches) - on the reverse side it has fractions annotated as well. Very nice condition, its swivel hinge works well, and the two little “closure” prongs are both there. The brass could be polished up to gleam.
