Large jar, carved in relief with an elephant and tiger fighting, two tigers, and a lion as the lid finial. Carved bamboo and mountain terrain. Item measures 18.5 cm high and 11.5 by 10.5 cm (oval). It has a fault to the lid (see image), the finial looks like it has been glued, and the base in pot also has a glue line holding the base into the walls. These are the only faults. Excellent workmanship in the ivory carvings. Would date from early half of 20th century, possibly circa 1920s.
