| « Click to return Maori Carved Part Walking Stick Item number: C10441 Date: early 20th century Price: NZ$165.00 Part of an old walking stick, carved with Maori motifs of standing figures, but also a lizard with stone eyes (one stone missing). The word “Nakah” or it may be Makah are carved on one side, and “Hewaka” on the other. Light wood, possibly pine or kauri, but now dark stained. Stain is coming off, and there are a few small white paint spatters. Stick is broken off 3/4 way down, the end having the remains of a dowel and some glue. It measures 64.5 cm long. Diameter on stem is about 3 cm. Interesting old piece, possibly folk–art early 20th century.
